Drinking and reporters. A dangerous combination.
As many of you know, my first book was published this past April. Sixteen weekends of dehydration, a chronic case of road fatigue, and a twenty stop book tour later, I am in the throes of wrapping up a legal year while preparing for the virtual book tour. The DCist found my duel pursuits amusing, and wrote about my left v. right brain wars in an interview here.
Disclaimer: This interview was conducted by the entirely too charming and confidence inducing Shawn Westfall. As if that was not enough, there were copious amounts of alcohol involved during the interview, which was undertaken in the warm and comfortable atmosphere of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group’s Vermilion.
In short, I take no responsibility for what I said.
In fact, I’m not even sure I said it.
Who is Sarah Moffett anyways?
Someone far more together than I ever will be…

Great interview, Sarah. I enjoyed hearing a bit about your process. Your comments about the technical challenges really resonated with me; I sometimes wonder if I would have forged through my first manuscript had I known how effing hard it was. Naivete is a wonderful defense mechanism… as is a fine Chianti Reserva!

I, too, love hearing more about your process and your writing. And well, that wine doesn’t just work for me alone.
Great interview. Have you read “How I Write: The Secret Lives of Writers” ? Made me feel wonderfully sane.

Linda~ Naiveté is a wonderful intellectual anesthetic. If it’s worn off for you, how are you already on to drafting your second manuscript?
Kelley~ Thanks for the props, and no, I have not read the “How I Write…” Perhaps I will, although, I prefer not to feel sane. Too close to human, and that’s just a place I rather not go…

Linda~ apparently I started out too hard. Jack and coke gets a bit rough by the third edit.
