Saving Fall. And my new pet deer.

November 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Fall Has Been Canceled After 3 Billion Seasons according to a recent article in the Onion.  This required immediate investigation as fall is the best season.  Ever.  See Moffett make for the Blue Ridge Mountains.  (Or as the Colorado side of the family likes to say, “the East Coast Hills.”)  I will let the pictures and voices in my head speak for themselves.

Fall 2

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day.

~Emily Bronte

Fall 5

I saw the lovely arch
Of rainbow span the sky,
The gold sun burning
As the rain swept by.

~Elizabeth Coatsworth

Fall 6

The leaves fall patiently
Nothing remembers or grieves
The river takes to the sea
The yellow drift of leaves.

~Sara Teasdale

Bill, my new pet deer, had no contributions, but we were friends after playing chicken.  My car vs. his body.  He won.
